These are the Dutch girls who gordon met at nanjie. He invited them to the beach and they came after only meeting him briefly. They also asked us to promise not to kill them.

New Tennesse Beach House

We just got back from the beach house! The house is in a tiny village 300km from beijing. The are no resturants or anything mostly just goats,chickens, and donkeys. Tom and gordon have renamed the village new tennesse for obvious reasons. Here is a picture of tom and julia standing on the roof overlooking the village.

We officially have our beach house! it cost us 4000kwai for a one year lease. I will be enjoying fun and sun until sunday. I will be sure to take lots of pictures and post them when i get back!

propaganda poster

It is a propaganda poster basically saying that everyone needs to commit their red hearts into the production of metal to form a new communist world.

that is not the literal translation but the jist of what it means so I am told. If anyone has a better translation please post it to the comments.

midi music festival

Yesterday we hit the midi music festival. This is like the chinese version of woodstock... not the original woodstock but like the lame ones of today. The youth of china appears to be going through an identity crisis. They are not quite emo, not quite punk, one part turbo, one part ozone, a little nightmare before xmas. everyone is just trying soo hard to be themselves.

I was busy shooting film with the toy camera so here are some cool digital shots taken by handjob. check out tom with the chinese punk rock star he is in love with!

d22 2nd anniversary

after the music festival we headed over to wodouko for a lavish sushi dinner. afterwards we then hit d-22 for its second anniversary party. there we met up with jenny, lei wei, and noami... hijinks ensued. unfortunately the bands at d22 pretty much sucked. afterwards we then hit another russian mafia bar.

last night was a dinner of sushi. only in china can 7 poeple eat sushi drink beer and sake for $40.

nanjie

This is nanjie. It is kind of a cross between coyote ugly and that fucked up bar in star wars where han solo shot greedo first!

anyways it is being torn down by the chinese government in 2 months.
